WSU Global Campus is celebrating student excellence with the Global Campus Chancellor’s Awards. These awards highlight the exceptional students who have made a meaningful impact on the online Cougar community. Each category winner will be awarded $500 (save for the recipient of the President’s Award, who will receive $1000) for their contributions to Global Campus and/or their community.
Categories
This award recognizes Global Campus students who strive to build stronger communities at WSU Global Campus or in their local communities through advocacy and engagement.
Award Criteria
Candidates will be scored on the following criteria:

Scoring Range:
- 13–15 = Outstanding nominee (exemplary outreach and leadership)
- 9–12 = Strong nominee (clear evidence of meaningful contributions)
- 5–8 = Moderate nominee (positive contributions but limited scope)
- 0–4 = Limited nominee (minimal evidence of outreach/engagement)
Candidates are scored by a six-person selection committee consisting of representatives from departments across campus. Five members will serve as voters and use the award criteria to determine the winners in each category.
This award honors a Global Campus student who strengthens the campus community by fostering respect, collaboration, and a welcoming environment. This award recognizes individuals who take concrete, measurable actions to encourage participation, support peers, and ensure that all members of the community feel included and able to contribute fully to campus life.

- 0–4 = Limited nominee (minimal evidence of engagement, collaboration, or community impact)

This award distinguishes a student whose exceptional leadership spans multiple domains—academics, service, and community impact—and who embodies the highest ideals of our university. Since 1996, this prestigious honor has been awarded to those whose vision and dedication inspire others. The recipient will receive $1000 and a commemorative award.
Nominations
WSU Global Campus staff, faculty, students, and community members can nominate students for any of these awards. Students may also use the same nomination form to nominate themselves. Nominators, whether staff, faculty, students, community members, or self-nominators—should indicate the specific award categories for which the nominee should be considered.
Timeline
- Applications are open from September 1 to March 20.
- Final winners will be confirmed in mid-April.
- Awards announcement and ceremony will take place in late April.
