Join WSU students\, faculty\, staff\, and alumni\, as we come together both in-person at each campus and on Zoom\, to create cards to give to local community partners across the nation—community partners such as local hospitals\, teen shelters\, assisted living homes\, etc. Virtual participants can choose to mail their homemade cards back to us to give to a certain community partner\, or they can identify their own. DESCRIPTION:Elevating the voices of military affiliated students as they look to the future is the goal of Washington State University’s fourth annual Veterans and Military-Affiliated Students (VMAS) Symposium next week. \nThe symposium will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday\, Nov. 9\, in WSU Vancouver’s Firstenburg Student Commons. The event\, which is also open for virtual attendance via Zoom\, will bring together vets and military-affiliated students from all campuses within the WSU system. \nThe theme for this year’s symposium is “The Way Forward\,” and will focus on how military-affiliated students can move in a positive direction both personally and professionally. Speakers include Zeke Crozier\, a U.S. Army veteran and Purple Heart recipient dedicated to serving the veteran community\, and Melissa Boatwright\, an Air Force veteran\, entrepreneur\, and motivational speaker. \nThe event schedule also includes a roundtable workshop\, time to interact with employers interested in hiring veterans\, an open discussion session\, and an update on new developments within WSU’s VMAS community. \nYou can register online to attend WSU’s VMAS Symposium in-person or virtually.

Join us on September 12th at 5 p.m. PST to get tips from Rebecca Solen and Dolan Valenzuela from WSU’s Crimson Service Desk on a number of topics! Learn how to report potential phishing emails\, be aware of phishing emails\, prevent hackers from getting into your online accounts\, and many more useful tips! We want to make sure that our Global Campus students understand internet safety. \n  \nPresenter information: \nRebecca Solen is a WSU Information Security Analyst with a background in ethical hacking\, digital forensics\, programming\, and security awareness. Her experience in the various realms of the information security industry includes military\, corporate\, and education. When not dealing with computers\, she collects LEGO and makes various baked goods for fun. \nDolan works for the WSU ITS Crimson Service Desk and brings to the role nearly a decade of technical experience. DESCRIPTION:Mother’s Day is a special occasion where we celebrate and honor the amazing women in our lives. A flower planting kit event to do with our kids is a wonderful way to show love and appreciation. During this event\, our cubs will decorate peat pots and learn about what kinds of plants they could grow in them. Everyone that registers for this event by May 4th will receive a craft kit in the mail. This will be a fun and creative activity for our that will also emphasize a positive impact on our environment.
