WSU’s livestreamed 2020 MLK Celebration will include the presentation of the WSU Distinguished Service Awards, multiple student musical and poetry performances, and a keynote address from sociopolitical comedian and author W. Kamau Bell. Bell, host of the acclaimed CNN series United Shades of America, will perform his one-man show “The W. Kamau Bell Curve: Ending Racism in About an Hour,” a comedic, topical exploration of the current state of American racism.

W. Kamau Bell is a sociopolitical comedian and host of the Emmy-winning CNN docu-series United Shades of America. He is also an acclaimed author, documentarian, and podcaster, applying his distinctive comedic style to the conversation about political current events and social justice issues. The New York Times called Kamau “the most promising new talent in political comedy in many years.”
