SUMMARY:Hispanic Heritage Month (El Cantante movie night)
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us in watching this drama musical film on Tubi which tells the story of Hector Lavoe\, a Puerto Rican singer whose voice showcases the salsa music to the world. \nWe will be watching El Cantante\, a film that stars Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez\, showcases the life and death of Hector Lavoe\, who is seen as the godfather of Salsa. While Hector is following the footprints of those before him\, he is guided by his wife\, Puchi\, in black and white flashbacks. Puchi lived until 2002\, up until drugs took her life. This movie is a musical that shows Hector Lavoe’s love for Salsa\, with his upbringing from Puerto Rico when he moved to New York and partnered with Willie Colon\, a trombonist. Salsa is the blend of Latin\, jazz\, and rock which becomes a very big deal thanks to Hector Lavoe and his musical gift.
