Join Global Connections program coordinator—and book enthusiast— Kaitlin Hennessy to discuss the novel that has been described as “A fascinating tale…by turns thoughtful\, hilarious\, disturbing\, uplifting\, horrifying and enjoyable—and sometimes all at once\, in a curious sort of way.” \nThe first 20 students who sign up for the online book club will be mailed a free copy of American Gods! \nBook club gatherings will be held in the online BlackBoard Collaborate Ultra room on: \n\nJanuary 3 at 7 p.m.\, Part 1\nJanuary 23 at 7 p.m.\, Part 2\nFebruary 13 at 7 p.m.\, Parts 3 & 4\n\nKaitlin will bring book topics to chat about as well as share interesting American Gods related news\, articles\, and information. DESCRIPTION:Since 1986\, the first year of the Martin Luther King holiday\, Washington State University has held an annual program to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  The annual celebration highlights the work and service of WSU community members contributing to social justice through arts\, leadership\, and volunteerism. \nShaun King\, prominent journalist and activist\, will be this year’s keynote speaker at the community celebration.  As the senior justice writer for the New York Daily News and a regular political commentator\, King covers the Black Lives Matter movement\, police brutality\, discrimination and social justice issues across the nation.
