DESCRIPTION:In honor of WSU Family Weekend\, we are bringing the exciting game of Family Feud to our Global students and their Coug families in a virtual format. \nHow to participate: \n\nPut together a team of 3-5 family members (this could include roommates\, fellow Cougs\, neighbors\, and anyone you consider family). Since this is a virtual event\, you and your family members do not have to be in the same house or at the same computer. Note: if you prefer to register without a team\, we can accommodate you into a Coug family on the day of the game.\nFill out the form below to register and include the names of your fellow teammates.\n\nHow to play: \n\nThe game will be divided into two parts:\n\n\nAll-Family Elimination – the evening will start with the elimination round\, where every team will get the chance to play. At the end of 10 rounds\, the top 2 scoring families will move on to the head-to-head showdown.\nHead-to-Head Showdown – the top 2 scoring teams from the All-Family elimination will compete against one another for the chance to win the grand prize! DESCRIPTION:Join WSU Executive Chef Jamie Callison and Orin Ford\, owner of O-Ramen restaurant in Pullman\, in a WSU Family Weekend competition\, presented by WSU Global Campus!  \nHow to Participate:\n\nSubmit your best ramen dish creation in one of the formats below. Please note that video submissions require an image to be included as well.\n\nImage submissions: We will post submitted images in photo albums on the WSU Global Campus Facebook page\, where one popular vote winner and one judge’s choice winner will be selected for each category. Facebook voting will start April 5th and run through April 9th. All Facebook users may vote on their favorite image by liking the photo. The likes MUST be on the photo within the album on the WSU Global Campus page to count for the contest. The most liked images will be our “People’s Choice” winners. \nVideo submissions: Send in your short (max. 45 second) video and it will be in the running to be 1 of 3 finalists selected by our panel of judges to compete during our live Zoom event. If you submit a video\, please plan on being available to virtually attend our Zoom event. If your video is among the 3 finalists selected to participate in the live competition\, you will be notified by Tuesday\, April 6th. During the event\, the chosen competitors will be given time to showcase and recreate their dish on air for the viewers.\n\n\nHave fun with it! Your ramen dish doesn’t have to be perfect. DESCRIPTION:This workshop will explore topics of grief and loss during the Covid-19 pandemic including but not limited to: loss of or delay in employment\, transitioning to working and taking classes from home\, changes in educational experiences\, especially practical hands-on training\, missing or delaying milestones\, loss or reduction of typical supports and social interaction\, loss of personal identity and sickness or loss of a friend or family member. DESCRIPTION:Intention Bracelets is a true “meaning making activity” for any group!  \nThe Experience Guide will invite a small group of students from the attendees to join them on screen as they talk through the process of selecting their word. Highly therapeutic\, the students will have the opportunity to express their thoughts on why they selected their word and why that word is important to them. After everyone has selected their word and design\, our Experience Guide will create one of the student’s bracelets live on screen with the small group\, and the other students in the small group will text in their word and design. The Experience Guide will then say goodbye to that group and invite the next small group of attendees to join them on screen. At the end of the 2-hour event\, our team will create the rest of the students’ bracelets and designs using the words they texted in\, and those bracelets will be mailed.  \nThis is a great combination of an engaging virtual event that brings students together\, and a direct-to-student drop ship product. By wearing their bracelets\, the students are constantly reminded of their intention and get the opportunity to share their word with those around them. \nNot recorded.

DESCRIPTION:It is well established that maintaining a healthy nutritional status is important for optimizing bodily functions and preventing/mitigating many metabolic diseases.  However\, the role that nutrition plays in mental health is less known.  Recent research has shown that diet and nutrition can have significant effects on mood and mental wellbeing\, specifically concerning stress\, sleep disorders\, anxiety\, mild cognitive impairment\, and neuropsychiatric disorders.  Furthermore\, data has revealed that proper nutritional intake can preserve normal brain function throughout life via its effects on neuroinflammation.  Here at Wellbeing Online we know all this information can come off as confusing\, complex\, and often conflicting.  Thus\, let us help you navigate these muddy waters!  Join Ramon Sodano\, Coordinator of Fitness Services and Adjunct Professor at Washington State University as he summarizes the relationship between nutritional implementation and mental health.

SUMMARY:Mindfulness Yoga Night - ASWSUG Healthy Mindset Events
DESCRIPTION:Join Registered Yoga Teacher Joanne Greene for mindfulness based yoga\, where we will introduce how to incorporate mindfulness and yoga practices into your everyday life for more energy\, ability to manage stress and greater enjoyment of our days.  Mindfulness is defined as a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment\, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings\, thoughts\, and bodily sensations.  Yoga essentially means “that which brings you to reality” (isha.sadhguru.org) and is a discipline which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. We will offer an inclusive and accessible practice for all bodies including those new to and experienced in either yoga or mindfulness practices. Please wear comfortable clothes to move in. You are welcome to practice from a mat/towel or a chair.  You may wish to have a large towel for a bolster and if you have blocks you are welcome to use those\, although they are not required.
