DESCRIPTION:WSU senior Kristian Gubsch was one of a very small number of students selected from the United States to travel to Madrid Spain for the December 2019 COP25 United National Climate Action Summit.  Gubsch acted as a “student professional correspondent’ representing the American Chemical Society\, helping promote climate science literacy among college and university students. Gubsch will share his experience at the COP25 summit\, and highlight the issue of climate refugees within the larger topic of climate change. He will also share with students his WSU experience with undergraduate research and distinguished scholarships; in December he learned that he was selected as WSU’s very first Marshall Scholar\, an award that will take him the United Kingdom’s University of Sheffield for graduate study in climate science.
