SUMMARY:WSU Accreditation Open Forums
DESCRIPTION:Representatives from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) will visit Washington State University April 9–11 for an onsite accreditation review. WSU graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to attend their respective open forum\, which will allow for a unique opportunity to meet with the Evaluation Committee. Both forums will be livestreamed for Global Campus students to participate.\nWSU Accreditation Open Forums\nLivestreamed on Monday\, April 9\nGraduate students: 2:00-2:45 p.m. (PT)\nUndergraduate students: 3:30-4:15 p.m. (PT) \nParticipate online via YouTube\nJoin the online WSU Accreditation Open Forum \nOnline participants may use the chat feature on YouTube to share their student experiences with the NWCCU representatives. To use YouTube’s chat feature\, log in to YouTube using your Gmail account. If you do not have a Gmail account\, you can create one for free. \nWashington State University has published its Year Seven Self-Evaluation Report in preparation for the visit. The report is available online\, along with a set of frequently asked questions. The report focuses on NWCCU’s five core standards\, and includes responses to past recommendations from NWCCU. WSU’s accreditation was most recently reaffirmed in 2013. Accreditation of an institution of higher education by NWCCU indicates that it meets or exceeds criteria for the assessment of institutional quality evaluated through a peer review process. \nFor additional information pertaining to accreditation and the onsite accreditation review\, please visit the WSU Accreditation website.

DESCRIPTION:Run away to the circus of 1932 by reading Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen with fellow Global Campus students. Join Global Connections program coordinator— and book enthusiast— Kaitlin Hennessy to discuss this novel during the Online Fiction Book Club.  The Washington Post promises that “You’ll get lost in the tatty glamour of Gruen’s meticulously researched world\, from spangled equestrian pageantry and the sleazy side show to an ill-fated night at a Chicago speak-easy.” \nThe first 15 WSU Global Campus students who sign up for the online book club will be mailed a free copy of Water for Elephants! \nBook club gatherings will be held in the online BlackBoard Collaborate Ultra room on: \n\nApril 9 at 7 p.m.\, Chapters 1-12\nApril 26 at 7 p.m.\, Entire Book\n\nKaitlin will bring book topics to chat about as well as share interesting Water for Elephants-related news\, articles\, and information.
