Given the rapidly changing situation in King County surrounding the COVID-19 disease, we have made the decision to reschedule the Student Summit. Stay tuned to our Facebook page and Global Connections homepage for updates and more information regarding this event.

This event will be a conference-based event focused on leadership and professional development for Global Campus students. We will be offering a resource fair, workshops covering a range of professional development topics, and keynote speaker- Justin Jones-Fosu. Check out his promo video below!

ASWSUG’s focus will be the professional and personal development of our students, no family activities have been planned for this event.

Workshops Include: 

The Power of Goals: How to Get More Done to Accomplish More of What Matters with Justin Jones-Fosu – Achieving your goals is a big part of constant learning and progression. In this workshop you will learn the R.E.A.L. Goal System and how to achieve more with actionable accountability.

Effective Resume Writing with Chris Miller – Your resume is your first, and often, your only time to get noticed by a potential employer. The WSU Global Campus Career Advisor, Chris Miller, will cover crucial strategies of resume and cover letter writing. This workshop will include resources for developing strong resume content, and attendees will participate in an activity that highlights the importance of tailoring a resume for a specific job listing.

Grad School Applications with Dr. Lee Daffin – Learn how to navigate the complicated world of applying for Grad School. Dr. Daffin will guide you through the process and offer tips and strategies to help your chances of acceptance.

Self Care Workshop with WSU Master Trainer Ramon Sodano – Self-care is an important part of maintaining student success. Learn skills to improve stress management, taking breaks, and safe-guarding your mental health.

OMBA Program with Mitch Swanger – Learn about the OMBA (Online Master of Business Administration) Program and get extra tips to help with Graduate School.

Lunch Panel & Discussion:

Climbing Success Panel with Dr. Lee Daffin, Dr. Rebecca Van de Vord, and Ryan Lazo, M. Ed. – This panel is designed to to provide a question/answer format to assist students with learning how to better their online student experience, how to best approach entering the career field, or navigate the process of entering graduate school.
